Five coaches of Awadh Exp catch fire
New Delhi, Sep 24: Five coaches of Avadh Express caught fire when the train, on its way from Gorakhpur to Mumbai, was passing through Bharuch district in Gujarat late last night.
The fire was noticed in Sleeper Class coach (S-10) at 0130 hrs while the train was on its run between Lakodra-Palez section of Vadodara division in Western Railway.
However, not a single passenger was hurt in the fire incident, a ministry official said today.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The train was stopped immediately and all the passengers from the affected five coaches (S-8 to S-12) were cleared safely and shifted to other coaches. The Railway medical team, along with senior Railway officers, was immediately rushed to the spot.
It later resumed its onward journey early this morning.
