DPCC chief welcomes Rahul's appointment as part Gen Sec

New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Jai Prakash Agarwal today welcomed the appointment of Rahul Gandhi as AICC general secretary incharge of the youth Congress and NSUI.

He led scores of elated party workers to the AICC office, amid beating drums and bursting crackers, on learning about Rahul's appointment to the key post in the party.

They also went to 10 Janpath and met Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Both Ms Gandhi and Rahul interacted with each and every worker and accepted their felicitations with humility and gratitude, a party release said.

Mr Agarwal said the Congress Party had always promoted young leaders and the elevation of Rahul Gandhi in the hierarchy of the party rank was a clear indication that the future of the country was vested in the youth of the country.
