DNA to launch Ahmedabad edition, plans to invest Rs 100 cr

Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) Deligent Media Corp Ltd (DMCL), an equally shared joint venture company, promoted by Dainik Bhaskar and Essel groups, today announced investment of Rs 100 crore to roll out ''DNA English daily newpaper's'' new edition from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

The company said here the DNA's new edition in Gujarat will be launched before the forthcoming state elections there.

Addressing mediapersons, Mr K U Rao, CEO of the company said: ''DNA has almost achieved the set targets in Mumbai in terms of circulation and advertisement revenues and hence the decision to embark on the expansion plans start from the state of Gujarat.'' According to company sources, the news daily has only one edition published from Mumbai and a circulation of about four lakh. Now, the group planned to make a nation-wide venture by bringing more editions from various cities across the country. ''We are all set for our national expansion. Apart from Ahmedabad, we may bring some more editions from at least three cities in the country within two to three years,'' said Mr Rao.
