Dara's daughter-in-law seeks cancellation of husband's bail

Chandigarh, Sept 24 (UNI) Dara Singh's daughter-in-law Amrita Randhawa today filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking cancellation of the bail granted to her husband Amrik Singh Randhawa.

The petition has sought cancellation of bail of some other respondents also in connection with a case registered against them on the complaint of Amrita alleging harassment and humiliation in an attempt to evict her and her daughters from their residence here.

The counsel for Amrita Randhawa alleged that the accused had misused the concession of bail by committing various cognizable offences in pursuit of their objective of harassing and humiliating her, including forcibly entering the residence.

After the preliminary hearing, Justice Lakshmi Narain Mittal issued notice for December 17, 2007 to Chandigarh Administration and other respondents.

The case was registered some weeks back under sections 323, 452, 354 and 34 of the IPC and the bail was granted by the judicial magistrate Ist class(JMIC) Chandigarh in the matter.
