Centre agrees to enhance quota for UT for admission to JIPMER
Puducherry, Sep 24 (UNI) The Centre has agreed to increase the Union Territory quota for admission to JIPMER hospital proportionately, following enhancement in the total number of seats from 75 to 100.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy told newspersons that he had received a communication in this regard from the Health and Family Welfare Ministry in reply to his letter, addressed to the Union Minister Anbumani Ramdoss earlier.
The modality for the enhancement of seat allocation would be decided later, he said.
It may be noted that with no allocation for Puducherry in the 25 seats enhanced at the institution, Mr Rangasamy had written a letter to the Ministry recently seeking allocation of seats for Puducherry.
