BJP demands apology from Karunanidhi
Gulbarga, Sep 24 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yadiyurappa today demanded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to tender apology to the Hindus for his derogatory remarks against Lord Rama and the Rama Sethu bridge, which hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Yadiyurappa said the Congress party should also own the responsibility for Mr Karunanidhi's remarks against Sri Ram, since DMK is one of the constituents of UPA.
''Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has neither reacted against the statement of Mr Karunanidhi nor condemned it strongly'', the BJP leader alleged.
Mr Yediyurappa deplored that the Union Minister's silence on the issue had also hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
