Mother, daughter washed away in Manjra river
Bidar, Sep 23 (UNI) A mother and her daughter were washed away in the swirling waters of swollen Manjra river at Halsi Tugam village in Balki Taluq district today.
According to police, some women were washing clothes on the river bank when Sangeeta(12) slipped and was washed away. Trying to rescue her daughter, Vanitha (30) also met the watery grave.
Search was on to retrieve the bodies.
Meanwhile, due to high waters of Manjra river, access routes to 15 to 20 villages along the river belt had been cut off for the last four days.
