Tiruchirapalli, Sep 23: Former AIADMK Minister Thalavai Sundaram alleged that the law and order had deteriorated under the DMK rule in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing a function here last night, Mr Sundaram alleged that the ineffective rule of the DMK government had paved way for increasing number of terrorist activities in the state.
Strongly condemning the reported remarks of Mr Karunanidhi on Lord Rama in 'Ramar Sethu' issue, he said the remarks had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa Peravai District Unit Secretary R Manohar, in a release, said the meeting of the Peravai had passed resolutions congratulating J Jayalalithaa for her registering her protest against the Indo-US nuclear deal.
The meeting strongly condemned the city corporation's move to hike drinking water deposit and drinking water charges.
The meeting also decided to hold a demonstration here on September 26 to condemn Mr Karunanidhi's remarks on Lord Rama, he added.
