Haryana to have international sports facilities

Chandigarh, Sep 23 (UNI) Haryana Government will provide sports facilities of international standard at Sports of Haryana Police Academy Madhuban in Karnal district.

This was disclosed by Haryana Director General of Police, Mr.

Ranjeev Dalal while giving away prizes on the Closing Ceremony of 39th Haryana Police Sports Competition at Baccher Stadium Madhuban today.

He said that the State Government had implemented various welfare schemes for police personnels which also included financial benefits to those police personnel who had laid their lives while fighting against anti-social elements.

The Government has made provision for a matching grant of Rs one crore in police welfare fund annually and special attention had also being given on the construction of new police station buildings and Police Lines.

In this competition, Haryana Armed Police Range (HAPR) had got first position in Basketball, Kabbaddi and Handball whereas in Volleyball it got second position. The shooting trophy was also won by HAPR.

Additional Director General of Police, Mr. V.N. Rai welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Ranjeev Dalal, Director General of Police in this sports event.
