Former Chairman of Minority Commission passes away

Patna, Sep 23 (UNI) Former Chairman of Bihar Minority Commission Haroon Rashid died today after a prolonged illness at the Hai Medical Research Institute here.

He was 86.

Md Rashid is survived by five sons and three daughters.

Md Rashid was a chronic patient of diabetes and was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past several days.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep sorrow over the death. In his condolence message he said Md Rashid was a noted litterateur of the Urdu language and a prominent socialist leader.

The void created by his death was irreparable, maintained Mr Kumar.
