Centre urged for quota in enhanced seats
Puducherry, Sep 23 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today urged the Centre to provide quota for the Union Territory in the increased 25 seats, in admission to MBBS course at the Centrally-administered JIPMER here.
In a release here, the Chief Minister said as of now the quota for Puducherry was 17 in general category and three in SC.
The number of seats was increased from 75 to 100. An allocation in the increaseded 25 seats would benefit the local students, he added.
As announced in the Assembly, the engineering college at Karaikal would start this year, with three courses.
The counselling for admission would begin tomorrow, he added.
