Yediyurappa faults Karunanidhi's remarks on Ram
Udupi, Sep 22 (UNI) Criticising Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his ''objectionable'' remarks on holy epic Ramayana and Lord Ram, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today said the Dravidian leader had to refrain from hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
Mr Yediyurappa, who was here on a visit to Sri Mookambika Temple, told newspersons at Kollur that it was 'an unpardonable mistake' on the part of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to support Mr Karunanidhi on the issue.
''Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had envisaged 'Ram Rajya'.
There is reference to Lord Ram and Ramayana in our Constitution also'', he added.
Urging Dr Singh to advise Mr Karunanidhi against making such statements, he said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister should refrain from vitiating communal harmony, he added.
