World Tourism day celebration in Pondy on Sep 27

Puducherry, Sep 22: The Puducherry Tourism Department has chalked out various events to celebrate the World Tourism Day on September 27.

According to an official release here yesterday, a photography contest for amateur and professional lensmen to capture the unexplored avenues, virgin beaches, calm backwaters and a 'Discover Puducherry' treasure hunt would be held to mark the occasion.

Apart from the events, a numismatics exhibition, a debate in Tamil on the 'Benefits of the Tourism', a tourism fair showcasing the major tourist attractions of various States, a cultural extravaganza and a live programme of life guards in the sea would also be organised, during the day.
