Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) The CPI and CPI(M), spearheading 'Bhooporatam' in Andhra Pradesh, today warned that the Left parties would not sit idle, if the government tried to curb the programme using police.

Addressing a function at Indira Park here, CPI State Secretary K Narayana strongly criticised Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for his statement that ''the government would put down the Bhooporatam with an iron hand''.

CPI(M) State Secretary B V Raghavulu said the Left parties would expose the ''shallowness'' of ''Indiramma Sambaralu'' programme launched by the government for distributing houses to the poor.

He also disapproved the government's claim that the deserving were getting houses under the programme.

The Left parties would hold demonstrations at all the places, where the ''Indiramma Sambaralu'' programme was conducted, he added.
