JK: Bihari labourers killed in accident


Srinagar, Sep 22: All the nine labourers killed in a road accident on Srinagar-Leh national highway yesterday were from Bihar while the driver belongs to Jammu, a police spokesman said.

He said the ten people, including nine labourers were killed and ten others wounded when a truck on way to Kargil from Leh skidded off the road and fell into a 100 feet deep gorge at Namkila top.

The deceased were identified as as Teja Paswal, Harihar, Varinder Ram, Nand Lal Rai, Haridar Matu, Jalandar Matu, Mukesh Matu, Natu Nisa and Ram Lal Rai all residents of district Betiya, Bihar.

The truck driver Madan Lal, was resident of Preet Nagar Jammu.

He said four of the injured were discharged after first aid while others have been admitted in District Hospital Kargil, police said.
