Hindu Munnani sceptical on quota for Minorities

Puducherry, Sep 22: Hindu Munnani Leader Rama Gopalan said separate reservation for Minorities would lead to religious conversion.

Addressing a public meeting organised by the Hindu Munnani and the Vinayaga Chaturthi Celebration Committee here last night, Mr Rama Gopalan said the Ram Sethu issue, which created problems in different parts of the country, was a test of faith and belief which linked the people.

It was a matter of regret that some political parties were ridiculing faith and belief even as they amassed wealth. It was unfortunate to seek evidence for existence of Lord Ram.

Taking strong objection to Tamil Nadu Government's reported move to distribute temple lands to the landless, Mr Rama Gopalan said it was an attempt to destroy temples.
