DC appeales to illuminate houses on Sep 27, 28

Amritsar, Sept 22 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Kahan Singh Pannu today appealed the people to illuminate their houses on September 27 and 28 to observe the 100th birth anniversary of Saheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

In a meeting held here with the representatives of Non-Government Organisations, political parties, Nagar Councils and Panchayats, the DC said, "To remember the great heroes of the freedom struggle, we should carry 'Deepmala' like Deepawli on our houses." He gave a call to all the political parties, organisers, eminent citizens, intellectuals, educationists students etc to observe the martyr's centenary as a mass movement to reawaken the spirit of nationalism among the countrymen.

He also appealed the public to reach in the heavy numbers to observe the 100th birth anniversary of Saheed Bhagat SIngh.
