CM reviews security arrangements for Ganesh immersion

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed security arrangements for the immersion of Ganesh idols on September 25, in the Hussain Sagar, in the city.

The meeting with Home Minister K Jana Reddy, DGP M A Basith and other top officials follows last month's bomb blasts triggered by suspected HUJI activists and the arrest of one of the main suspects yesterday.

Dr Reddy directed the officials to be more vigilant and ensure there were no untoward incidents during the immersion.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Mr Jana Reddy said the government had made elaborate arrangements for the ceremony and to protect law and order.

Around 15,000 policemen have been posted at different sensitive points to ensure the immersion went on without any friction or tension.

Answering questions about the anonymous letter received by the DGP naming the masterminds of August 15 twin blasts in the city in which more than 40 persons were killed,Mr Jana Reddy said veracity of the contents of the letter were being checked.
