Bitta draws public attention to save Ram Sethu
Tirumala, Sep 22 (UNI) All India Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman M S Bitta today called for public participation in protecting the Ram Sethu, a symbol of faith, from demolition for the Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP).
Mr Bitta, who was here on a visit to the Lord Venkateswara Temple, told newspersons that he had offered worship to Lord Rama at Rameswaram and vowed to protect the Sethu from demolition.
A former Indian Youth Congress President, Mr Bitta said, ''we will not let anybody destroy the Ram Sethu, constructed by 'Vanar Sena', to rescue Sita from her abducter Ravana in Lanka.
Condemning the remarks of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi against Lord Rama's historicity, he said '' the remarks had hurt the sentiments of crores of people''.
