UP foodgrains scam case posted to Nov 16

Lucknow, Sep 21 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today posted to November 16, the hearing on a PIL demanding a CBI probe in the Uttar Pradesh foodgrains scam case.

This order was passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Hemant Laxman Gokhale and Justice S S Chauhan on a PIL filed by Vishwanath Chaturvedi.

Earlier, additional advocate general D K Arora filed supplementary affidavit in the case.

He informed the court that the special investigation team (SIT) was probing the matter and soon a report would be submitted before the court.

The affidavit mentioned that the SIT was not only probing the matter in Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri, but also in 42 other districts of UP, where the scam had come to fore.

Eight senior police official of SIT were investigating the matter, the court was informed.
