HC admits appeal against Iqbal Kaskar and others
Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today admitted the State Government's appeal filed against Iqbal Kaskar, brother of underworld don Davood Ibrahim and five others, for their alleged involvement in the Sarah Sahara controversial shopping complex case.
A division bench comprising Justices S Radhakrishnan and Roshan Dalvi, while admitting the appeal filed against Kaskar, Narendra Rajbarm, Gulam Nabi, Hasmukh Shah, Kiran Achrekar and Madhukar Salve, ordered expeditious hearing of the same.
The court also directed all six accused to surrender before the authorities within the stipulated time. On June 13, the designated MCOCA court had acquitted Kaskar and the other five accused owing to lack of evidence. However, four persons were awarded various imprisonment terms and fines.
