66th Observer Course passing out parade held in Kochi

Kochi, Sep 21 (UNI) Six personnel of 66th Observer Course comprising five Navy and one Coast Guard officer were awarded 'Wings' by Southern Naval Command's Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Admeral Sunil K Damle at an impressive ceremonial passing out parade held here.

During the 46-week course, the officers were trained in tactics employed in Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Electronic Warfare besides basic training in Air Navigation and flying procedures.

These officers will function as Airborne Tacticians onboard Maritime Reconnaissance and Anti-submarine warfare aircraft of the Navy.

Lieutenant Sumit Shrivastava was awarded the 'Sub Lieutenant R V Kunte Memorial Book Prize' for standing first in ground subjects and also the 'Uttar Pradesh Trophy' for being the Best All-round trainee.

Lieutenant H V Salunkhe was awarded the 'Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command Trophy' for excelling in flying training.

Flag Officer Sea Training Rear Adminral R K Pattanaik and various other dignitaries, including parents of the passing out officers witnessed the parade.
