Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao today said his party would continue with the struggle against the government if it failed to stop the sale of Wakf and endowment lands to real estate companies.

Referring to the High Court's stay on allocation of Wakf land to Lanco Hills company, Mr Rao told reporters here that the court stayed the land allocation after the TRS filed a petition.

Threatening massive agitation programmes at the site where Lanco would start construction works ''illegally'', he said the total cost of the Wakf lands was around Rs 50,000 crore.

He alleged that the state government was conspiring to sell the Wakf lands to the companies, which were planning to establish commercial complexes.

Stating that the TRS would protect the Wakf and endowment lands, which were being encroached upon in Telangana, Mr Rao said the TRS would approach Supreme Court to protect the lands.

Earlier, the activists of the TRS, TDP and Left parties tried to lay seige on 'Parishrama Bhavan', where the government was auctioning the lands.
