PM receives visitors : no Cabinet meeting

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is convalescing after a prostate gland operation last week, today received several visitors who wished him a speedy recovery.

The weekly Cabinet meeting which takes place every Thursday, however, did not take place today.

Among those who called on him at his 7 Race Course Road residence were Leader of Opposition L K Advani and BJP President Rajnath Singh and Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni.

Shipping and Road Transport Minister T R Baalu also met Dr Singh, a PMO spokesman said. Congress President Sonia Gandhi had called on him last evening.

The Prime Minister was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday after being admitted there for four days.
