High Court seeks report from Govt on law and order situation
Ranchi, Sep 20 (UNI) Concerned at the recent incidences of killing by criminals and terrorists groups in two ditricts of Gumla and Simdega, the Jharkhand High court today directed the state government to file reports in this regard within four weeks.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice Amreshwar Sahay passed the order while hearing a PIL.
Mr Ajit Kumar, on behalf of the petitioner, informed the court that the law and order situation at Gumla and Simdega had 'deteriorated to the maximum point'.
''Everyday one or two persons are killed by criminals or terrorist outfits in the two districts and there is noone to stop them,'' he said.
''The state government is also watching these episodes, yet not taking any decisive step to check the crimes,'' the lawyer argued.
