SFI demands action against school management over student's death

Tiruvallur, Sep 19 (UNI)Volunteers of Students Federation of India (SFI) today staged a demonstration at Ponneri near here, demanding action against the Management of the Velammal International Residential School, following the death of a student in the school last week.

The demonstration was led by SFI State Secretary Selva along with 50 other activists near the Ambedkar statue.

The agitators alleged that the police and the state government had failed to take action against the management and had demanded an inquiry into the incident by a sitting High Court judge.

SFI would submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard.

The student, Bilal was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the school hostel last week.

They also alleged that the school authorities had encroached upon the government land.
