Ramsethu issue raised to divert attention from nuclear deal: Marandi

Hazaribagh, Sep 19 (UNI) Former Jharkhand chief minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president Babulal Marandi today said the Sethu Samudram project issue was raised to divert people's attention from the Nuke deal with the US.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Marandi said the Congress and BJP were making a hue and cry over the Sethusamudram project just to divert the attention from the nuclear deal, which would leave adverse impact on the sovereignty of the nation.

Mr Marandi said if the project was so important, the Centre should also think of alternative ways of its implementation instead of playing with people's sentiments in the name of religion.
