Police station in charge among 3 cops suspended in UP

Lucknow, Sep 19 (UNI) Three policemen were today suspended for alleged laxity in discharge of duty in Basti and Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Basti Police Superintendent Anand Swaroop said Haraiya police station incharge V N Tiwari was charged for illegally providing photocopy of an investigation report in an assault case.

In a subsequent probe, Tiwari was held guilty in the case and was suspended accordingly, Mr Swaroop informed.

Besides, two police personnels, including a sub-inspector were suspended in Banda after a custodial death.

On Monday, murder accused Narayan Das, who was arrested with the assistance of Rajasthan Police, died of injuries at the district hospital.

Three absconding Rajasthan Police sleuths have already been booked for the murder.
