Minister warns against clearance of industrial schemes

Bhopal, Sep 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Commerce and Industry Minister Jayant Malaiya today assured effective steps to ensure time-bound clearance and implementation of industry-related issues.

Declaring that delays would not be tolerated, he warned that strict action would be taken against those responsible for ''avoidable'' delays.

He said the government would frame rules and notify pending decisions and remove all possible bottlenecks by March next.

''We want to avoid procedural delays and sit across the table to sort out problems to further improve the industrial climate in the state.'' The minister was speaking at a CII-sponsored interactive session with industrialists from the state here.

Industries Commissioner Deepak Khandekar and CII (Western region) Chairman Shrinivas V Dempo were also present.

Reiterating his government's commitment to speed up the pace of industrial development, Mr Malaiya sought the help of the private sector to play active role in producing skilled manpower, particularly keeping in mind the big projects including the Bina Refinery, which would go into production in the next couple of years.

He pointed out that Bina Refinery alone would require about 3,000 technical graduates, who are presently going out to other states for want of proper jobs within the state.

Expressing optimism about industrial prospects in Madhya Pradesh, he said there were signs of encouraging industrial growth with more and more investors, both international and national, coming to the state.

There was significant improvement in roads and power availability in the state.

He assured that he would involve the industrialists associations in framing and monitoring implementation of policies.

He said the government was also considering proposals for revival of sick units and one-time settlement of their dues.

He said the government would encourage women entrepreneurs in the state.
