Meghalaya to enhance salary of ad hoc teachers
Shillong, Sep 19 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has decided to enhance the salary of ad hoc secondary school teachers in the state.
Talking to newspersons, state Education Minister Robert G Lyngdoh said here today that this decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting held yesterday which was presided over by Chief Minister D D Lapang.
He said the Cabinet had asked the Finance and Planning departments to look into the matter.
Earlier, the salary of Primary and Upper Primary teachers had been increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000.
''We have taken up the pending matter with the Finance and Planning department,'' Mr Lyngdoh said adding that the Cabinet also discussed the need to improve the service conditions of the teachers in the state.
