Katta Bomman the only Tamil film viewed by Advani

Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu Sep 19 (UNI) Senior BJP Leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today said ''Veerapandiya Katta Bomman'' was the only Tamil Film he has seen.

Addressing the party functionaries during the two-day annual State Convention of Tamil Nadu unit of BJP here this evening, the former Deputy Prime Minister said amid thunderous applause from the party men that the only Tamil film he had seen in his life time was none other than Veerapandiya Katta Bomman, the history of an erstwhile king and freedom fighter hailing from Tamil Nadu.

Tamil actor-turned politician Sivaji Ganesan performed the lead role in the film and Mr Advani himself had informed the late actor about this fact when he met him in the Rajya Sabha long ago.

Mr Advani further said he also got the chance to visit the ''Karma Bhoomi'' (birth place) of Veerapandiya Katta Bomman in Tirunelveli district during his 59-day Swarna Jayanthi Yatra.

UNI
