Government constitutes 30-member Integrated Education Council

Panaji, Sep 19 (UNI) The Goa government today constituted a 30-member ''Integrated Education Council'' with the chief minister as its chairman and Education Secretary as member secretary.

The council, according to an official release, will draft the integrated policy of education for the state, covering pre-primary to university level, besides prreparing plans/programmes/schemes for its implementation.

The committee will meet at least once in three months and the chairman shall have powers to co-opt any person as member of the council and invite any person to participate in its meetings.

Dealing with drop-outs and preparing the students for competitive examinations like the IAS, IPC and the CAT, upgradation of professional colleges, boosting research projects and chalking out empoloyment-oriented courses were among the issues the draft policy covered.
