Former Punjab minister has narrow escape in road accident

Phagwara, Sep 19 (UNI) Former Punjab minister Gurkanwal Kaur had a miraculous escape when her car was hit by a speeding truck near Rama Mandi Chowk on the national highway late last night.

Gurkanwal Kaur, daughter of slain former Chief Minister Beant Singh, sustained minor bruises.

She was returning to Jalandhar from Chandigarh.

Police has arrested the truck driver and impounded the truck.
