Buddhadeb's stance on nuke deal against common spirit of Left: AIYF
Kottayam, Sep 19 (UNI) The CPI's youth wing, All India Youth Federation (AIYF), today opined that Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's pro Indo-US Nuclear deal stance was against the common spirit of the Left Parties.
Addressing a news conference here, AIYF President P Santhosh Kumar demanded that the CPI (M) leadership evaluate his stance as it was against the common spirit of the Left.
He appealed to the Left parties to reconsider its support to the United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre in the light of the ''pro-imperial'' stance being pursued by it.
Mr Kumar criticised a section of the media for attacking State Forests Minister Binoy Viswam in the ISRO land deal. As everything related to the issue was clear, there was no need for him to resign, he said, in reply to a question and alleged that the United Democratic Front's agitation demanding the Minister's resignation was vested with interest, keeping an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections.
