Jammu, Sept 19 (UNI) Aimed at penetrating the rural markets, telecom major Bharti Airtel today launched 'all-in-one solution' public call office (PCO) phone service in Jammu and Kashmir.

The new launch is in line with the Airtel's endeavour of reaching out to masses in most convenient and innovative way, company's COO Vishal Sehgal told reporters at the inauguration.

''The PCO phone is a cost effective solution for a PCO operator that increases the return on investment of an operator while offering convenience to customers,'' he said, adding that the new product will help the PCO-STD operators to function in more effortless way while increasing their returns simultaneously.

Unlike a conventional PCO, the Airtel's new PCO phone has an inbuilt call display meter, call billing feature, internal battery and call usage reports, besides a special limit-calling feature through which an operator can enter the value of a call the customer wants to make.

The new phone comes at a cost of Rs 1,999 with built in free talk time of Rs 1,500, while the recharge cards have been designed keeping in mind both high usage and low usage PCOs and offer returns of up to 49 per cent.

Once the call has exhausted the desired value, it will get disconnected automatically. The STD operator can also attach a bill printer or an external booth display separately, if desired.
