5 injured in clashes between RSP and CPI(M) activists
Balurghat, Sep 19 (UNI) At least five people were injured today due to clashes between RSP and CPI(M) activists at Hatbighi under Tapan police station.
Police said RSP supporters, led by South Dinajpur district secretary Prashanta Majumdar, had taken out a protest rally, alleging that CPI(M) activists had torched their local party office.
Mr Majumdar alleged that during the rally, CPI(M) activists attacked the agitators injuring five of them adding that three had been admitted to the Balurghat District Hospital.
The RSP activists later set some vehicles afire and gheraoed Balurghat and Tapan police stations, police said adding that some of them had been arrested.
