India TV news channel gets HC relief

Allahabad, Sep 18 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today stayed the eviction of Independent News Service Private Ltd, which runs India TV news channel, from a Noida plot.

Passing this order, a division bench comprising Justices V M Sahai and Rakesh Sharma directed that the India TV news channel will continue its work from the plot in question.

The court has asked the Noida authorities to file a reply in this case fixing October 24, 2007 for next hearing.

The court passed this order on a writ petition filed by Rajat Sharma on behalf of India TV.

The petition was filed challenging the cancellation of lease made in favour of the petitioner by the Noida authorities.
