Bharti signs $ 150mln deal with Huawei

New Delhi, Sept 18 (UNI) Bharti Airtel Ltd today said its subsidiary, Bharti Airtel Lanka Private Ltd has signed a 150 million dollar managed networks deal for its Sri Lanka operations with Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.

Under the deal, Huawei will build and manage GSM mobile infrastructure for Bharti Airtel in Sri Lanka over the next three years, the company said in a statement.

In addition, it will deploy and manage Airtel's core network, Node-Bs and BTSs and comprehensive end-to-end 2G/3G network solutions.

With the network deal in place, customers in Sri Lanka can look forward to a host of innovative products and services at an affordable price from Airtel's vast portfolio.

''We are committed to create a state-of-the-art mobile network and offering world-class and affordable 2G and 3G services to customers in Sri Lanka,'' company's Executive Director, International Operations and Managed Services Sanjay Nandrajog said.
