Meghalaya: Top ANLFA militant leader wounded

leader

the
A'chik
National
Liberation
Front
Army(ANLFA)
has
been
seriously
wounded
in
an
encounter
with
the
police
in
East
Garo
Hills
district
of
Meghalaya.
The incident occurred at Rongrong bazaar under Resubelpara Sub- Division yesterday, when the militant leader Nobin Marak alias Mangkhram and Scorpion opened fire at the police.
Police said they had asked Marak to surrender, but defying the order, he challenged security forces resulting in an exchange of fire.
The militant leader sustained serious bullet injuries before fleeing to a nearby jungle, leaving behind his AK 47 rifle and two magazines.
