Religious conversions will follow reservation: Hindu Munnani

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 17 (UNI) Taking strong exception to the Tamil Nadu Government's move to provide 3.5 per cent reservation to Muslims and Christians, State Hindu Munnani Organiser Ramagopalan today said it would pave way for large scale religious conversion.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the Hindu Munnani would challenge the move in the court of law. It would also mobilise the Backward Class against the ''illegal reservation.'' Opposing Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's remarks on Lord Rama and Ramayana, Mr Ramagopalan said the Chief Minister would ''learn a lesson'' for all his unwarranted remarks.

He welcomed the suggestion made by All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi founder and actor Sarathkumar and Ilatchiya DMK founder and actor Vijaya T Rajender that the Centre should go ahead with the Sethusamudram Canal Project only after receiving a feedback from the people.

To a question, Mr Ramagopalan said Union Ministers Ambika Soni, T R Baalu and H R Bharadwaj should be dropped from the cabinet for their alleged statements on the Rama Sethu issue.
