Punjab Police ASI nabbed with heroin

Ludhiana, Sep 17 (UNI) A Punjab Police official was nabbed with 800 grams heroin near Dugri bridge in the city this evening, police said.

The police personnel identified as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Paramjit Singh posted in the Economic Offences Wing was taken into custody after the drug was recovered from his possession.

He was later booked under the NDPS Act. The case was registered at the Model Town police station.

The police had yesterday arrested a Amritsar Central Jail official with 205 grams heroin at Amritsar.
