Porter murdered by tempo driver in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Sep 17 (UNI) A 32-year-old porter was today murdered by a tempo driver at the market yard premises here.

The man was identified as Pandurang Shankar Todkar, hailing from village Bandiwade in Panhala tehsil of the district.

Tempo driver Ashok alias Bapu Chandrakant Mojar (33) of village Vadange in Karvir tehsil has been taken into custody, police sources said.

At around 1100 hrs, a quarrel broke out between Todkar and Mojar over loading of vegetables into tempo. Furious Mojar, squeezed Todkar's neck making the latter unconscious.

Todkar was rushed to civil hospital here by other porters, where he was declared dead on admission, sources added.
