National seminar to review NKC recommendations

Bangalore, Sep 17 (UNI) A two-day national seminar will be held here from September 19 to 'critically review' the recommendations on higher education by the National Knowledge Commission (NKC).

Briefing newspersons here today, Bangalore University (BU) Vice Chancellor H A Ranganath said the seminar was aimed at creating a public space for critical review of NKC recommendations on higher education.

''Higher education has made a significant contribution to the development of nation's economic, socio-cultural and governance aspects,'' he said.

Over 70 eminent educationalists and 300 delegates were expected to participate in the seminar, which was organised jointly by Karnataka Government and the BU, he added.
