Modi lays foundation stone for power station at Ukai

Surat, Sep 17 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the 490 mega watt power station at Ukai, near here.

Addressing a public meeting after the foundation laying ceremony, Mr Modi said Gujarat is the only state which has five types of electricity production capacity and it is looking forward to have wind energy and solar energy also.

In an apparent reference to the affidavit filed by the UPA government on Ramsetu, he said the Union Government was fulfilling the wishes of Ravan by breaking the bridge, which was built by the allies of Lord Ram.
