International Centre signs MoU with Toyota Foundation
Panaji, Sep 17 (UNI) The International Centre, Goa (ICG) here has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Toyota Foundation Asia Neighbours Network Grant to implement a project on citizens' networks throughout Asia by using multi-media.
The project, 'Formation of Network of Citizen's Neighbourhood Heritage Movements Through the use of Multi-media in Asia from Goa to Nara in Japan', aims at establishing citizens' networks in Nara and Goa so that they can understand and represent their own neighbourhood and eventually to expand such networks to other parts of Asia, said M Rajaretnam, director of the ICG, here today.
''These networks enable people discover their own neighbourhood through the multimedia and exchange their views. A village or town in Nara and Goa will be chosen for their field work initially,'' he said.
The 2-year project will be led by a team of 5 experts each from Nara University and Goa. The Nara team is led by Dr Kyoko Matsukawa, a lecturer in sociology, he added.
