Indo-US Nuclear Pact threat to India's autonomy: Mulayam

Lucknow, Sep 17 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said if the Indo-US Nuclear deal wentahead, the country's security and autonomy would be under threat.

''It is a matter of utmost concern that America's interference and pressure on India is increasing day by day. Its next target is Iran. The US wants India and Pakistan to stand eyeball-to-eyeball with Iran,'' Mr Yadav said before leaving for SP's state executive meet here.

''Besides the ever-mushrooming inflation, unemployment, poverty, a constant threat looms large on country's security and autonomy.

The foreign policy of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is US-oriented,'' the former defence minister maintained.

Stating his party would start an awareness drive in this regard, Mr Yadav noted it is necessary to present thea right picture before the youth and students.
