HC grants Dera chief interim bail till Oct 4

Chandigarh, Sept 17: Punjab and Haryana High Court today granted interim bail till October 4, to Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with a case of rape and two of murder murders investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Justice L N Mittal also directed the Dera Chief to surrender his passport and file an affidavit that he did not possess any other passport.

The court has also directed the Dera chief to apply for regular bail as and when he appeared in the court at Ambala where CBI had filed chargesheets against him and others in the three cases.

Till the decision on regular bail, the Dera chief would remain on interim bail, the court ruled.
