Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) A local court today remanded former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President and MP K Keshava Rao's son Venkat, who was arrested in a murder case, to CBCID custody for five days.

The Additional Metropolitan Magistrate remanded Venkat to CID custody after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence counsel. The CBCID, probing the murder case, had filed a petition in the court, seeking his custody for interrogation.

The city police had registered a murder case against Venkat based on the complaint of the parents of Prashant Reddy, who was shot dead in the house of the Congress leader's son recently.

The State Government had handed over the murder case to CBCID immediately after the arrest of Venkat by the Banjara Hills police.
