2 killed in separate incidents North 24 Parganas

Barrackpore, Sep 18 (UNI) Altogether two persons were killed last night at Mohunpur and Debpukur area under Titagarh police station in North 24 Parganas.

Police said the incident occurred when locals beat up the victim with heavy bamboo sticks following an altercation amongst them.

The victim was immediately rushed to a sub-divisional hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Alleged culprit Swapan Das have surrendered before the police, a senior police officer said.

In a separate incident, police recovered the body of an old man, allegedly killed in his house at Debpukur last night.

Police suspect the incident might be a sequel to a family feud relating to the victim's property. The deceased was found gagged and strangulated in his room.

Police have apprehended the victim's four sons for interrogation.
