Teachers Kazhagam appeals to govt to fill up vacant posts

Pudukkottai, Sep 16 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Pattathari (Graduate Teachers) Asriyar Kazhagam today appealed to state government to fill up highschool headmasters post and other equivalent posts with graduate teachers and Tamil pandits only.

In a statement here, Kazhagam General Secretary Thambidurai said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the recently held Kazhagam's state executive meeting.

He said the meeting had urged the government to create assistant headmaster posts in all government higher secondary schools.

It also urged the government to regularise the contract teachers appointed between the year 1987 and 2002.

He said the Kazhagam wanted the government to rework on the science syllabus fixed for Standard ten as it was very hard for the students.

"We will launch stir, with the support of students and parents, if the government failed to look into the matter", he said.

The meeting also urged the government to introduce a uniform education system from next academic year in the state.
